Tribes have a short amount of time to toss food off the sailing ship, and get it to their boat. (Meanwhile, Ryan finds the Super Idol on the ship.) After Probst rings the bell, tribes must get in their boats, paddle to shore, and light a torch from a 15-foot high wok. Healers are first, lift Roark; Heroes second, lift Chrissy. Hustlers are far behind, paddling poorly. Healers win a bonfire and large fire-making kit. Heroes are second, win flint.

Tribes must race over a cargo net, haul up a cart, ride it down a track. After crashing into the sawdust, first tribe (Heroes) selects their table maze (from three options), then second (Hustlers), then third (Healers). After hauling the table maze up a huge staircase (Ashley, Alan; Cole, Joe; Ryan, Lauren), two people (Mike, Desi; Chrissy, Ben; Devon, Ali) work their table mazes, first to three balls placed wins. All tribes place two, then Healers win. After a tight race, Hustlers just beat Heroes. Ryan sends the Super Idol to Chrissy after the challenge.

Joe, Lauren sit out. Three people (JP, Ben, Ashley; Roark, Jessica, Cole; Ryan, Devon, Patrick) dive in, untie and move one of three bundles of puzzle pieces from an underwater cage. Devon collects all three Hustlers pieces, giving them a huge lead. When all three bundles are out and in their basket, they swim the basket to their platform, where two tribe members (Chrissy, Alan; Mike, Desi; Ali, Simone) assemble a crossroads puzzle. Winner gets a big fishing kit, second gets smaller one. Hustlers, Heroes first to 3 pieces, Healers last. But Mike and Desi breeze through the puzzle, and the Healers win! Heroes second.

Mike sits out. Tribes must cross an under/over obstacle, then scale and descend a reverse net crawl obstacle, then knock 20 blocks off an arch by throwing sandbags. (Switching out is optional.) When all blocks are down, they must then stack the 20 blocks vertically. Heroes are first to the sandbags. Healers knock all their blocks off first, then Heroes. Patrick refuses to switch out for the Hustlers. Healers declare victory, but have forgetten a block. While they find and add it, the Heroes win immunity plus 4 chickens. The Healers take second, win immunity plus eggs. Hustlers lose yet again.

After tribes arrive for the challenge, Probst tells them to drop their buffs, and three new tribes of five are drawn: Yawa (red) has Ben, Lauren, Cole, Jessica, and Mike; Soko (yellow) has Chrissy, JP, Ryan, Ali, and Roark; Levu (blue) has Alan, Ashley, Desi, Joe, and Devon. For the challenge, three people (Ben, Cole, Lauren; Ryan, Roark, JP; Joe, Alan, Ashley) must untangle a twisted rope, including around obstacles. Alan/Ashley/Joe bring up the rear. One person (JP, Ben, Joe/Alan) then tosses the rope to hook a heavy sled containing pieces for a vertical puzzle. After hauling it, the remaining two people work the puzzle. Yawa leads (Mike, Jessica), then Soko (Chrissy, Ali). Yawa wins, before Levue even hooks their sled. They win a PB&J feast, no prize for second place.

As the Yawa tribe enjoys their peanut butter and jelly feast, they also have individual chip bags. Inside the one she randomly picks, Jessica finds a Secret Advantage. It's a vote blocking advantage, that must be used at that episode's Tribal Council. Jessica can block someone at Yawa from voting, or must play it on someone on the tribe attending Tribal, if Yawa is immune. She tells Cole and Mike, Cole promptly tells Ben and Lauren. Then the drama is for naught, as Jessica plays it on Devon.

Tribes must lift a heavy crate of puzzle pieces, maneuver it through a table obstacle, drag it under a net, then lift it onto a platform. While four people then untie the three pieces, another person (Lauren, Chrissy, Ashley) must unlock two locks, releasing the other three pieces. The first four must then assemble the large, six-piece puzzle in which intersecting colors must match. Yawa is first, Soko second to start puzzle. Yawa wins, Soko second. Levu last again.

Once all three have moved the ball to their target mats, one remaining person (Devon, Cole, JP) shoots five baskets. Levu first to shooting, Ryan struggles mightily moving the ball. Devon wins a pastry and coffee feast for Levu. Cole hits his fifth basket right as JP starts to shoot. Yawa gets a jug of iced coffee.

Ryan, Mike sit out. Contestants must jump off a dock, swim to a boat, haul three rice sacks through the water to a fence, and squeeze all three bags through a small hole. Then take those bags across a balance beam (JPx3; Devonx2, Desi; Colex2, Ben) to the shore, cut each open (Joe, Ben, JP) and remove three balls. Levu is first, Soko last to finish this part. Then move all three balls to the top of the swiss cheese maze, one person each time, while standing on a balance beam. Maze workers: Ashley/Devon/Desi; Ben/Jessica/Cole; Chrissy hands off to Ali... Ali places one, Chrissy tries again, but is unsuccessful. Cole wins it for Yawa, Levu is second. Chrissy drops the ball multiple times.

The whole tribe then pulls on a rope to move the boat out to a dock, where they use a giant slingshot (Ben, JP, Joe/Devon) to knock down two targets. Winner gets 10 pizzas and sodas. Second place one pizza to share. Soko has a lead to the boat, Levu dead last. Targets: JP-1, Ben-1, JP-2 (Soko wins!), Ben-2 (Yawa second).

Randomly drawn teams: Blue (Ryan, Chrissy, JP-1, Cole, Devon-1, JP-2, Devon-2, JP-3); Red (Ben-1, Mike-1, Lauren-1, Ashley-1). Joe draws the white rock, automatically gets to join the eventual reward winners without competing. Challenge: contestants must fire giant slingshots at five targets. Everyone must shoot at least once, and must swap out after hitting a target. Scoring: Blue team (JP-1, Devon-1, JP-2, Devon-2, JP-3) beats red team (Ben-1, Mike-1, Lauren-1, Ashley-1), 5-4. Desi does not shoot, is switching in for Ashley right as the blue team wins. Reward food is served family style, each person eats in private, Joe decides order in which people eat. There's also an idol clue printed on the plate below the spaghetti, which Cole, Chrissy, and Ryan see.

When the reward group returns to camp, Cole, Chrissy, and Ryan are all eying the tribe flag, where they know the idol is buried. Ryan waits until Cole leaves to pee, then races to the flag and digs up the idol, hiding it in his shorts. Chrissy comes over, and Ryan tells her to cover up the hole he left. Cole notices this, races over and starts digging, and pandemonium ensues. Ben accuses Cole of slipping the idol into his pants (he didn't).

When all three are collected, the remaining two unlock a crate containing 5 balls, which one person (Ben, Joe) uses to shoot five baskets. Red is first to unlock chest. Shooting baskets: Joe (red) 1,2,3; Ben (blue) 1,2,3; Joe (red) 4,5. Red wins a trip on a yacht, with food and drink.

Finish order: 1.Lauren, 2.Mike, 3.Ashley (almost done), 4.Chrissy (multiple top row blocks), 5. Joe (2 top-row blocks), 6. Devon (1 top-row block), 7-T. Ben, JP, Ryan (second row). Lauren picks Ben, Devon, Ashley to join her on a helicopter trip to the Sacred Islands. There they eat, form a new alliance, and receive letters from home.

After reading his letters from home from a hilltop viewpoint, Ben descends and notices a tribal symbol painted on a rock. He retrieves an idol clue, which directs him to find a clay pot in the hook (or something like that). Eventually he finds the pot in a nearby tree, breaks it, and retrieves a hidden immunity idol.

Contestants are randomly divided into two team of four. They must swim out to a boat, then paddle to collect three bags of logs. Once on shore, they must use the logs to push puzzle planks through a tunnel, then use those planks to complete the puzzle. Teams: Red - Ryan, Chrissy, Lauren, Mike; Blue- Devon, Ben, Ashley, Joe. Blue first to get 2 bags, surprisingly red catches up, mostly. Blue then takes a huge lead moving the logs and on the puzzle, wins easily. They receive a spa trip.

Contestants must use a 'Survivor driving wheel' (one-wheeled dolly) to transport a key (attached to a ceramic pot) through a series of obstacles (seesaw, balance beam). The key will unlock a set of block puzzle pieces, they will then use the wheel to transport stacks of them over another series of bumps to the finish area, where they will use the 12 pieces to solve a one-word word puzzle (INVULNERABLE). Order to unlock pieces: Ben, Devon, Joe, Ashley, Chrissy, Lauren. Mike and Ryan way behind. Order to start the puzzle: Devon, Ben, Ashley, Lauren, Chrissy, Joe. Ashley starts to change hers, Chrissy sees Ashley's and races to switch her letters, as do Devon and Ben (albeit incorrectly). Chrissy wins! Order of finish: 1. Chrissy, 2. Ashley, 3-t. Devon, Ben, Joe, Lauren, 7-t. Ryan, Mike.

They then unclip and toss five rings onto a target. Chrissy/Devon win! Winners get a chopper ride to private island, feast, overnight stay. Devon and Chrissy pick Ryan to join them.

After the IC, Ben goes off unsupervised to search for another idol. Eventually, he finds a tree with an arrow, pointing to a rolled-up clue. The clue tells him the idol is attached to the underside of the shelter, which require skill to grab steathfully. Ben waits patiently, but is not shown getting the idol. (He does get it, though.)

After searching all night, Ben returns to his raft, only to find a symbol directing him to dig on the side of it. He swiftly digs up his third idol.

Contestants must swim out to a platform, climb a set of crates, leap off and grab a set of keys. Then cross an aquatic balance beam, stopping midspan to untie a second set of keys. Then use those keys to unlock a puzzle. Finally, rearrange the balls in the puzzle to match color of the table. Winner gets immunity plus an in-camp feast. Results: Mike first to get both sets of keys. Mike and Devon reach puzzle first. Then Chrissy, Ben. Ryan last. Chrissy wins! She brings Dr. Mike... and Devon.

Each contestant must stack letter blocks on a very wobbly platform, to spell HEROES, HEALERS, and HUSTLERS. The structure can be locked to retrieve more blocks, but doing so can knock the blocks over. Results: Everyone drops lots and lots of times. Ben has all the blocks placed, but has the U upside-down, then drops his blocks fixing it. Chrissy eventually wins.
