across the savannah, lighting additional woks along the
way. Diane passes out from dehydration close to the finish

Linda sits out. Tribes must move five logs of descending
length through an obstacle course, one at a time, staying
together as a tribe. At the end of the course, logs are
placed in holes next to a tower, forming a staircase. Once
all five are placed, one person must climb to the top (Kim
P, ?). Both tribes are tied until Samburu gets a late
lead, then Kim J. trips, forcing Boran to wait. Samburu
wins comfort items, leftover stuff from the truck.

In the first round, each person must drink a shot of
freshly collected cow blood (mixed with milk). All succeed
without incident, and Lex drinks twice. For the
tiebreaker, Boran selects Linda and Samburu selects Kelly
to drink a much-larger cup of pure blood. Fastest to
finish wins. That would be Linda, and Samburu wins
immunity.

Ep3 RC: Rock 'n Roll
Brandon and Kim P. sit out. Tribes must roll a large
boulder along an outdoor course (staying between marked
flags) and onto a holder at the finish line. Both tribes
remain close until Samburu repeatedly lets its boulder
roll off-course, and they have to backtrack, uphill.
Borans wins easily, gets a 100-gallon water dispenser
delivecal-red to their camp the next morning.

Ep3 IC: Distress Signal
Carl and Teresa sit out. As in Borneo, both
tribes are instructed to make a distress signal that can
be seen from a plane passing overhead. Samburu spells SOS
using their boma as the O. Boran chooses a large open area
for theirs, and adds mosquito nets dyed using Mama Kim's
luxury item, acrylic paint. Boran's effort is judged much
more eye-catching, and they win immunity.

a rope web, retrieve one of 12 food items. First tribe to
collect all 12 gets the items. Matchups: Brandon v. Tom;
Silas v. Clarence; Teresa v. Kelly; KimP v. KimJ; Lindsey
v. Lex; Frank vs. Ethan. On the second set of runs, KimJ
falls, can't get up, Lindsey laps her. Samburu wins,
12-11.

Teresa sits out. Two 'architects' (Brandon, Linda; Kelly,
KimJ ) must memorize the arrangement of a house/pen/items
in one 'camp' then direct the recreation of that camp
after the remaining tribe members move the camp items 200
yards up a hill. Boran wins easily, with four big guys
carrying the heavy stuff. Duh.

Ep5 twist: Tribal swap
Each tribe is sent treemail instructing them to pick
three representatives to send on a "quest." The people
chosen (Silas, Frank, Teresa from Samburu; Kelly, Lex, Big
Tom from Boran) arrive at the meeting place, which is the
initial drop-off spot from Ep1. Probst tells them to give
him their buffs, which he exchanges for new buffs from the
opposing tribe. They've been swapped (or "smoked," if
you're Silas).

Ep5 RC: Get Your Goat
Each tribe must herd 20 color-coded goats into their
tribe's pen. Teresa (Boran) and Brandon (Samburu) are
gatekeepers, who open and close the tribe's pen's gate.
The rest must direct/carry goats. Boran wins, 20-18, and
they receive three egg-laying hens and a rooster.

Oddly named, since it involves neither spears nor
hunting, but instead archery with flaming arrows and
exploding masks. Which, to be honest, is far cooler than
spears, anyway. Kelly sits out. Targets range from 30 ft
to 70 ft away, in 10-ft intervals. Results: 1.KimP, Teresa
miss. 2.KimJ misses, Lindsey hits (Samburu 1, Boran 0).
3.Ethan, Brandon miss. 4.Clarence, Lex both hit (Samburu

Both tribes arrive at the challenge, where Probst
announces they've merged, hands them new green/teal buffs.
The challenge is the now-traditional, hold up a bucket
until you can't one. Order of elimination: 10.Kelly (14
min), 9.KimJ (14 min), 8.Brandon (18 min), 7.KimP (36
min), 6.Tom (44 min), 5.Frank (55 min). Probst offers a
burger to entice remaining competitors to drop out - no
takers, so he gives it to eliminated people. Same results
with pizza. 4.Lex (3 hrs, 18 min), 3.Ethan (3 hrs, 38
min). At 6 hrs, Clarence and Teresa do
rock-paper-scissors, Clarence loses. Paper covers rock.

Contestants must then take a staff with 7 colored stripes
to one of 7 gated stations, each with a question about the
story and 2 eggs. If they break the egg corresponding to
the right answer, they get a color-coded leather strap to
tie onto their staff. First person to 5 wins. Lex is in
the lead, but drops a leather strap on his way to the
finish. But he recovers it, and wins. 1.Lex (5),
2.Frank(5), 3-T. Everyone else (4).
