Episode 4: "The Winds Twist" (Air date: March 20th, 2002; filmed November 21-23, 2001)

Our Picks:
Boot: Sarah.  Why?  Well, we were guessing Kathy, but if Survivornews.net says it's Sarah, it must be.  Okay, so we don't deserve credit here, but hey - there were no previews.
RC: Maraamu.  Could also be a "neither" or "both" situation.

IC: Rotu.  If Sarah goes, that may mean Rotu win (barring a switch).

To be completely honest, the above is abject guessing. If we'd had previews to watch, we might have been more accurate.

Here's this week's misdirection from CBS:

What CBS says What we think it means What actually happened
(1) Gina returns from Tribal Council, shocked. (1) She does?  How could this be? (1) Gina returns from Tribal Council, shocked..
(2) Another castaway appears to have a changed attitude, but does he really?  (2) Sounds like Sean, and we suspect he will quickly tire of Rob telling him what to do, too. (2) Uh... who was this?  Sean and Rob didn't appear to change at all.
(3) And the castaways throw their fates to the winds and find themselves in a surprising predicament.  (3) This may just refer to the high winds, and minor problems of stuff blowing around the campsites. Big deal. (3) Standing on a circle doesn't really have a hell of a lot to do with wind, does it?

RC - Is there a twist (i.e. player swap)?
Answer: Looking doubtful.  SurvivorFever's Weather Tracker predicts high winds throughout this episode (that would be the "winds" part), and the one of the challenges, presumably RC, seems to be something involving getting spun around (the "twist" part).  The CBS teasers and eyemail indicate they have to work harder to keep their camps intact (minor wind damage).  While there could be some sort of tribal swap, it seems unlikely it could be crammed into the first 10 minutes.  On the other hand, if they are spun around individually, then told to run to one tribe or the other, that would be an entertaining (and potentially vomit-inducing!) way to redistribute the players.  At the very least, we should see them getting dizzy, and maybe puking.  That alone may be worth the price of admission.

Maraamu reading the RC treemail: "Challenges of brain and brawn are nothing compared to this. Your world will turn, your head will spin, as you stand upon the disk."

Neleh adjusts her blue buff. Looks like a challenge. John is in front of her, Kathy behind.

Rob standing next to Paschal, at what looks like a challenge area. Same clothes as the RC treemail.

IC - No previews, might as well guess Rotu
There have been no challenge previews whatsoever.  This is either: (1) to hide the players swapped before the first challenge, or (2) to keep us guessing if there is a player swap.  We suspect the former, simply because there are going to be a lot of angry viewers if nothing actually happens after all the hype.  Or maybe we suspect the latter.  Who knows?  No previews = guessing.

Boot - Sarah?
The only thing we can throw out here, beyond SNN saying so, is that Patricia seemed to like Sarah in her post-boot interviews.  That suggests they may have had a chance to bond post-boot.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, we thought it was Kathy originally.  So sue us.
