Ep.1 RC: Tiers of Heaven

Ep.1 RC: Tiers of Heaven

Two at a time, contestants must go through a mud crawl, under a bar, retrieve a large puzzle block, then carry the block back to the start. Tribes must then assemble the puzzle blocks into a three-tiered podium, which one person (Tevin, Charlie, ?) must then untie a long pole and climb, then use the pole to retrieve the tribe's flint off another tall pole. Nami takes a huge lead, wins easily. They win their flint, machete, and cook pot. Siga is second, and gets to choose between Savvy and Sweat tasks. They choose Savvy.

Ep.1 journey: Torch card

Ep.1 journey: Torch card

Maria, Tevin, Jelinsky attend. Upon arrival at the sand spit, they find a table with three cards on it: A torch card, a vote card, and a skull card. They must turn them over, each draw one, and the person who draws the torch card (Maria) must announce it. At that point, the two other people must convince her that they drew the vote card. Whichever person she picks gets an extra vote, whoever she doesn't pick loses their vote. If she picks correctly, she gets an extra vote, and loses hers if incorrect. Both Tevin (vote card) and Jelinsky (skull) initially assert they drew the vote card, but on repeat questioning, and a threat to tell her tribe about the deceit, Jelinsky admits he lied. Tevin and Maria get extra votes; Jelinsky loses his.

Results: Nami takes a huge lead, Siga is second, Yanu last to the puzzle. Nami wins easily. Siga second easily.

Ep.1 idol: Tiffany

After earlier finding the beware advantage clue, opening it, and digging up a locked box as instructed, Tiffany learned she would be unable to find the key until her tribe lost an immunity challenge. Upon losing the IC, she races back, finds the new instructions are a coded message, which she quickly decrypts. It directs her to a rope tied around a rock, which she finds, retrieves the key, and unlocks the box. She now has a fully powered idol, with no restrictions.

The tribe must then put the two wheels on a cart, and push it out to where two chests are buried, dig them up, then put them on the cart. Then they must push the now-heavy cart over obstacles, then through a twisty course. Then open the chests and solve an overhead arched word puzzle (PERSISTENCE). All three tribes struggle on the puzzle, with 11 pieces and just five people to hold them, but Nami wins again, Siga second again.

Ep.5 idol: Jem

Jem returns to the actual site of her Beware clue find, reads the new instructions, which require her to measure several things (tribe boat, water well) perimeters in units of the tribe machete, then solve a math problem to know how many machete lengths away from that spot the idol is buried (toward the ocean). Despite everyone being in camp, she's able to do this, and dig up the key, which unlocks the Siga box and gives her the idol. (She's voted out without playing it, mere hours later.)
