Performance ranks are a quick visual measure of the contestant's season vs. historical data from all prior contestants, in three basic (scorable) categories:
1. Performance in individual challenges (MPF), as a measure of "physical game";
2. Ability to vote people out consistently (VFB%, or VFB/TCA), or "strategic game"; and
3. Ability to avoid being voted against (rVAP, or TCA-VAP) - which scales better than a percentage would - for "social/strategic game."

Official M-Net Island of Secrets bio excerpts (May, 2019):
"With his long flowing hair, muscled body and love for the ocean, Danté is Survivor SA’s dreamy Aquaman! His passion for the outdoors has taken this soft-spoken athletic loner to many places across the world. After living in Thailand and spending the last seven years in the South of Israel next to the Red Sea, Danté has returned to South Africa to run a coffee shop – in a small coastal town of course! Danté certainly doesn’t conform to the norm. “I do my own thing, on my own terms,” he says of himself. “There are too many followers in this world.” Case in point: Even though he sees himself as a “real surfer”, decent hygiene is very high on his priority list."
Official SurvivorSA: Return of the Outcasts M-Net bio (6/5/22):
"Although Danté de Villiers has travelled the world, he went back to his roots and settled in the peace and tranquility his native West Coast has to offer. Having been the physical player in Survivor SA season 7, he would need to break out from his introverted mould to not make the same mistakes in his previous season.
Describing himself as a listener rather then a talker, his background in having owned a coffee shop and the podcast he runs as a hobby might just give him the necessary social skills this time around to build solid relationship early on and perhaps, he could convince others that keeping him around might be the best for their game."
