Pirate Master episode 8 detailed Expedition spoilers/ speculation
The teams apparently do a lot of rowing and running around, with one group bringing back some official Burnett Mint replica doubloons. We're not sure which crew wins, or what it would mean if the winners are the "spirits" of the white crew. But it could happen, in theory.

Who wins? We'd say the white crew has a pretty good shot, especially since CBS hints: "Will vengeful ghosts swipe the treasure and choose which of the remaining Pirates get marked? Can the Captain and the Officers sustain their first direct attack - or will mutiny prevail?"
In the first clue, they at least lay out the spoils of a white crew win: while they don't get to come back into the game, they would appear to keep the treasure, and usurp the captain/officers' power in handing out black spots. And we'd guess Azmyth, Ben and Jay would not be immune from such gifts.
The second clue would seem to indicate a slightly different outcome - if the white crew loses, there's still the option of a (black crew) mutiny vote. Or perhaps that's still an option if the white isn't allowed to give black spots to the triad.
Update: CBS finally got around to putting the web promo up the day before the show, and it seems to show a black crew win. Or at least Jay looks extremely happy... perhaps he's merely delighted to see John again. But while the expedition location does appear to be the exact same one where John "single-handedly" (just ask him!) led his crew to victory in Ep1, we suspect Jay's glee might have more to do with obtaining/ retaining treasure. Just a hunch.
