Tocantins episode 8 detailed boot spoilers/ speculation |
With
nine players left, this is the perfect time to pull off a 5-to-4
power shift. And if the much-hyped, cross-tribal Exile alliance
is going to come to anything, this is exactly the place (and
the numbers, since there are five of them) where they'd need
to do it. And if they can, they can still keep their pair of
hidden idols safely pocketed. If so, the bootee should
be one of the four remaining Timbiras: Coach, Tyson, Debbie or
Erinn.
Coach "the Dragon-Slayer"
was seen in Ep7 concocting a dastardly scheme to oust Brendan.
So he's an attractive target. He's also extremely useful as
an F2 goat, however, and was fairly useless in challenges, at
least when they were tribal. So maybe he should get a pass.
Tyson is then the favorite
for this week's boot. He's seen (by Coach at least, and now JT
and Stephen) as Coach's lieutenant, and he's strong in challenges.
He's also fairly likeable/charming, and could be a late-game
threat. If he doesn't win immunity himself, he's a
good person to get rid of early. At least in theory.
Debbie seems like an unlikely pick. And Erinn is only loosely affiliated with Timbira in the first place. Either
one (or both) could be much more valuable as a swing vote to
even up the Exile alliance 3-2 Jalapao-Timbira imbalance later
on.
A larger, more metaphysical, question might be:
what happens to Debbie once Tyson gets booted? So far, her role
on the show has entirely been as Tyson's portable laugh track.
Considering the fake "lightning" layered over Coach last week,
we wouldn't put it past the editing crew to start cutting to
shots of Debbie doubled over, gasping for air, several times
during each of Tyson's confessionals. (Please feel free to blame
us if they do). So anyway: if Tyson's voted off, does Debbie
disappear in a puff of smoke, too? Just asking.
More as more details emerge.
