Tocantins episode 5 detailed boot spoilers/ speculation |
Not
much to go on at this point. Probst happily mentions Coach, Sierra,
Stephen, Debbie, Tyson, Taj and Spencer as key characters
this season (here and here), so we'd guess they're not on the
chopping block this early.
With Sandy's boot in Ep4, we'll return to our
reaction shot theories of editing: after Jalapão's loss in the
Ep1 IC, the camera showed Carolina (booted, Ep1), Joe (still
here) and Sandy (booted, Ep4). After they lost again in Ep4,
the camera showed Sandy again, Joe again, and Sydney. We'd guess
the next two to go are Joe and Sydney, which fits with their
omission from Probst's list of stars (above) and Carolina's
list of dear friends. [As
a long-term aside, the Ep4 IC arrival shot sequence was interesting:
Taj watched as Erinn, Debbie and Coach each got headshots: first
three targets of Taj's alliance, or final three?]. Note that
it also fits the available press
photos evidence, such as it is (see the IC discussion).
Of Sydney and Joe, who is more
at risk? In the post-Ep4 preview, Joe is shown
muttering that Taj's behavior will get her booted (not if she
finds the hidden idol and plays it against him), and Taj gave
him a throwaway vote in Ep4. Sydney was considered
for the Ep4 boot, but her looks were deemed too indispensible
for camp morale.
Tough choice, but we're leaning Joe for now. Although the 10-second
weekend ad does have a nice shot of a sad-looking Sydney. Hmmm.
Update: Spencer is also a possibility, based on the full Ep5
preview, in which he comes out (at least in confessional). tullfan2 at MeSS makes a fairly convincing case for why it could be Spencer
as soon as this week. We're not so sure, but it's plausible.
So basically, while we're confident that the red tribe
will be repeat visitors to Tribal Council this week, we have
no solid idea who they'll boot. Sydney is probably the easiest
to boot (especially in light of the "men vs. women" sports promo
script). But Joe could also go if Taj uses the hidden idol against
him. It would be amusing if both sets of San
Diego contestants
that Erika Shay recruited from local bars got removed from TAR and Survivor in
the same airing week.
But nah, we'll pick Joe.
