Tocantins episode 3 detailed immunity challenge spoilers/
speculation |
With
the arrival shots lacking Taj and Brendan, it's clear this challenge
must be for immunity. Note that JT's buff position matches in
the arrival shot and the cube-rolling shot. We'd imagine this
is where Probst opines about how "the momentum has definitely
shifted" as well. (Likely preceded by Joe's bragging that
Jalapao is a "force to be reckoned with" or that they "can do
some real damage" if they win).

As for the challenge, this one appears to
be the time-worn immunity favorite: puzzles... although a fairly
physical variation on them. Each tribe has to roll massive cubes
over to a stacking area, where they are lifted, stacked and rotated
to form a six-block staircase with the tribe's name written diagonally
on the side. We'd
guess the winning tribe then has to climb up to the top, or something. Rolling
for Jalapao: JT/Spencer and Joe/Sandy; rolling for Timbira, Coach/Erinn
and we'd guess Brendan/Debbie (since Tyson, Jerry and Sierra
are receiving).

So who wins? Your guess is as good as ours.
From the looks of the shot of the two tribes rolling their blocks,
Timbira appears to have a slight lead. In the weekend ads, Timbira
is lifting their last block up (Coach & Debbie lifting, Tyson
receiving). At this point, a few Jalapaos are climbing around
on their stack, but they're also looking behind them, so their
block is probably still coming. Finally, Timbira's last block
appears to be nearly in place, with Brendan bracing it (presumably
to let Tyson and Jerry orient it properly), when Jerry says,
"It's gonna fall!" If it doesn't, Timbira ought to
win. If it does, immunity may go to Jalapao. We'd guess Timbira
recovers, mainly because there a lot more plausible boot opportunities
on Jalapao.
Late update: CBS finally got around
to releasing the press
photos from this episode, and one of the last
shots chronologically (as far as we can tell) is of Timbira in
camp (in the water) - but importantly, Brendan is present. We'd
guess this is after the IC, and as in Ep2, this suggests that
Timbira loses the IC (necessitating Monty Brinton to hustle back
to camp with them to catalog the impending carnage). Shows how
helpful vidcaps are, we guess.
