| Survivor:
Micronesia episode 1 detailed immunity challenge spoilers/
speculation |
As
discussed in MayanSun's
thread at Sucks, Yahoo! has a video up,
entitled "'Survivor Micronesia' : Fans vs. Favorites." In
it, there are images of an early-show (10 vs. 10) lineup of the
two tribes, posing for the
cast photo. There are also shots of challenge (with buffs), with
several people (Erik, Alexis, Jason) in the same outfits.
Our guess for the sequencing is that the cast
photo is taken (which will of course be excised from the first
episode) prior to the immunity challenge. Since this appears
to be the second challenge (a more-hirsute Truck is shown with
his buff in a new position), it must be for immunity, which fits,
since the cast photo appears to have been taken on the last day
of Ep1.

As for the challenge itself, it's
a cart race/obstacle course, in which the tribes dig
up, then assemble various puzzle pieces to make the
wheels. Two people ride in the cart, seven push/pull,
and one wanders along behind, carrying a torch. In
the CBS-provided trailer on
YouTube (h/t MayanSun),
there's a shot of the unassembled cart wheels (pre-challenge),
plus a few shots of the course not found in the TV
ads. It's clear that the newbies assemble their cart
first, and take off with a healthy lead, while the
"all-stars" are still tinkering around with
their cart. At some point, the favorites eventually
get going (with Eliza and Yau-Man as their riders).
There are also barriers to go through (somehow).
From the TV Guide Channel's preview, the race ends with both
tribes disassembling the carts to build a second device,
a horizontally rotating wheel that the tribes turn to raise
a flaming wok to victory.

So who wins? At Sucks, yeahitsright has
stated that Jonny Fairplay is the first boot, and SurfanEVER at
SurvivorSkills claims that "I was told that JFP
immediately quit right after the IC where the favs
were defeated by the fans." So that together might
indicate that the Airai (fans)
tribe wins here.
