Once split, the two tribes will be Moto (green) and Ravu
(orange). Moto will have Alex, Boo, Cassandra, Dre, Edgardo,
Gary, Liliana, Lisi and Stacy (all but Alex and Liliana are
visible in green buffs, below). The Ravu tribe will (for
this challenge) be: Anthony, Earl, Erica, James, Jessica,
Michelle, Mookie, Rita and Yau-Man (all of whom are visible
in orange buffs, below).
The challenge itself (below) seems
to require seven contestants from each tribe to pull their
two remaining tribe members along the beach on a wooden sled.
Much like the Iditarod, except with fewer parkas, and camera-savvy
reality contestants in place of sled dogs (although, to be
fair, Earl is an alumnus of the Univeristy of Washington,
making him a lifelong Husky). And lashed-together wooden
things instead of actual, aerodynamic sleds. But probably
more people will watch this version. Why we're not sure,
but the formula for calculating this outcome most likely
involves some combination of timeslots, bikini factors, and
general ennui.
Update: From the TV Guide Channel
preview, there's more to the challenge after the "chariot"
part: the tribes collect bags, apparently containing puzzle
pieces, they race to a puzzle table, spin a wheel of some
kind, release a knife and cut a rope to release their tribal
flag. All very "original" for Survivor.
It's called, naturally, "Chariots of Mire." |
Who wins? Not sure yet, but in addition to immunity, they
do also get to stay at the "luxury" camp, making
their tribe more like Real World: Fiji than Survivor.
New footage of Mookie (last row, above), apparently either
late in the challenge, or immediately after, show him moving
slowly, looking pained. Not generally the sign of a winning
tribe, especially if it's (as it appears) post-challenge.
Moto wins? Update: SurvivorPhoenix has heard
that Moto indeed wins.
