So
far, we know from the challenge
board that there is a challenge here, and that's about
it. Presumably more will turn up as the show airs. Unless
CBS is so busy preparing their chock-full-o'-excitement
recap episode for next week, that they neglect once again
to show any clips. Which is possible, although following
the weekend ad extravaganza (CBS invested heavily in their
mid-strike viewership with one whole 20-second ad, plus a
sprinking of 5-second ones), there was one shot of the IC,
which appears to be a Question & Answer-type deal. In which
Frosti gets to play with leftover props from Pirate
Master.
Update: Probst's Yahoo!
TV preview of the
episode includes no more footage of the challenge itself,
but does point out Probst's love for the gimmick of allowing
the contestants to opt out of immunity and eat during the
challenge, instead. Which, as you might guess, occurs here.

Nonetheless,
the preview following episode 8 did show the cast arriving
at tribal council. From Probst's canned commentary: "A
surprise at Tribal Council"
he breathlessly intones, leading to a clip of himself saying,
"Tonight, you will not be heading directly back to camp.
We have more business to attend to here." It's unclear
what this is about, possibly a thrilling bonus lecture from
Probst about teamwork, or something. It seems unlikely that
the IC is at tribal council, because Courtney does not arrive
wearing last episode's necklace. |
Who
wins? SurvivorSkills says
Frosti is this week's bootee, so we'd guess not Frosti. Since
the arrival at tribal council does follow a regularly scheduled
external challenge, we can also cross off the following from
the above pictures: Denise, Amanda, Courtney, Erik,
James and Todd. That leaves only Peih-Gee (and Frosti). Although,
on second look, there does appear to be a stray, necklace-like
pointy bit in the bottom left corner of the Peih-Gee shot
(see the previous week's necklace shot, below for comparison).
So maybe Peih-Gee does win.
Note added in proof: It looks like anywho at
MeSS had spotted this before we had even watched the show.
Very well then, carry on.
