"I take problem
teens from different agencies in Indianapolis, from the Department
of Education and the Department of Corrections, and teach them social
skills, vocational work skills, how to deal with a boss, how to even,
you know, go to work, and take care of themselves. Most of my guys
are not interested really in education – they find school very
restrictive, very hard. I like the fact that I intimidate people and
put them a little ill at ease. That shows me kind of who they are.
If I look you in the eye and you cannot look me in the eye, you look
down, or I see you coming at me and you cross the street to avoid me,
I know you're not a strong person inside yourself. I’m able to
kinda see through the exterior of the people, and judge by body languages
what you really mean. You can tell me anything to the face, but your
actions have to show that too." |

Indianapolis man
makes 'Survivor: Pearl Islands' cut
"An Indianapolis man is among those trying to outwit, outplay and outlast
his fellow castaways. Survivor Seven is soon to arrive and
this time the hit reality show goes pirate style with a swashbuckling
adventure
in Panama's Pearl
Islands. The sixteen contestants will once again be playing for $1
million. The players were announced Thursday and a Hoosier is among
them....
Boneham is married to his wife, Laura, and
they have one four-year-old daughter, Raya. 'I myself am a throwback
to the 70's that tie-dye old hippie. I like
to consider myself that well groomed mountain man,' said Rupert
Boneham, who works as a mentor for troubled teens in Indianapolis.
Survivor: Pearl Islands premieres Thursday,
September 18th right here on WISH-TV and CBS." |

"Born in Detroit, Rupert Boneham moved with his parents
at a young age to Indiana where he eventually attended Haworth High School
in Kokomo. He then moved to Texas to study nursing at Cisco Junior College
and San Angelo University. Boneham currently resides in Indianapolis,
where he works as a vocational and clinical mentor for troubled teens.
He previously worked as a gravedigger and a bartender. His hobbies include
scuba diving, camping and coin collecting. His favorite sport is racquetball.
He describes himself as strong, smart and brave. He is most proud of
becoming independent/self-employed and being able to care for his family
while not having to live the "Nine-To-Five" world. He believes
his competitive advantages on SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS are his ability
to be a team player, hunter and gatherer, camper and all-around survivor.
Boneham is married to his wife, Laura, and they have one four-year-old
daughter, Raya. His birth date is January 27, 1964." |
