TV Guide Channel preview:
"Andrea is my hope to break the mold. There's a little hip-hop goin' on inside there [?!]. And I'm hoping that, that births itself out here [?!] and that she's really come to play."
CBS cast assessment video:
"Hopefully Andrea can break the mold we've had recently of the young, usually blonde, often a pharmaceutical sales person, who doesn't really make a big splash but somehow finds their way toward the end. Andrea seems to have something else going on."

A biographical snippet not included in Andrea's CBS bio, excerpted from a much-longer column written by Kathy Rathke (apparently Andrea's great-aunt) for the News Record:
"You may recall a few years back when I reported a great niece who had passed away in a 4-Wheeler accident and that her sister Andrea Boehlke had survived. I am so happy to say that Andrea did not let that horrific event define her life, but rather went on with a very busy life in sports, being an A student, using her singing and acting skills among other gifts as her sister Jeri Lyn would have wanted her to. She is now in college on the Dean's list among other activities and has completed her part in the Survivor program."
And below, more information from Andrea's father, from an interview by Erik Litke in the Green Bay Press-Gazette:
"Royal Boehlke, Andrea's dad, said the experience is a dream come true for a family of huge Survivor fans. He said it was also an incredibly hard secret to keep, as only a small group of people were told where Andrea Boehlke was when she left to film the show last fall.
'As a family we really only watched one show, and it was Survivor,' said Royal Boehlke, 49, of Random Lake. 'For that to actually happen to us was just amazing. We just couldn't believe it was actually happening.'
Royal Boehlke said his daughter submitted an audition tape last January and — after being selected — embarked on a training regimen that included workouts, puzzles, shooting a slingshot and even butchering and cooking a chicken.
'I think she's a very determined person, and she doesn't like to lose,' Royal Boehlke said. 'She's always competitive, so I really think it's going to work out.'"
From her EW photo caption:
"Andrea may be only 21 years old, but she already has plenty of experience outdoors. 'I've been hunting and camping my whole life. I've shot seven deer and I've also hunted turkeys and lot of different kind of fowl.' And now she's hunting human game!!! But this natural flirt also hopes to kill with kindness. Does that mean a showmance could be in her future? 'There's really only three [hot] guys. Honestly, I think I've been checking out the girls more.' Alrighty then!"
From her official CBS bio page:
"Occupation: Student (University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point)
Personal Claim to Fame: Paying for my own college education and making the Dean's list every semester.
Inspiration in Life: My parents are my inspiration because they are hard-working, down-to-earth and both have a great sense of humor.
Hobbies: Sports, theater, horseback riding, hunting and outdoor activities.
Pet Peeves: 'Girly-girls' and electric staplers.
Survivor Contestant You Are Most Like: Perhaps a mixture of J.T. because he is hard-working and has a farm background and Parvati because she's competitive and knows how to have fun, but I'm also very unique.
Reason for being on Survivor: I crave adventures. I also want to prove how tough I am.
Why you think you'll 'survive' Survivor: Growing up on a farm and being a member of the 4-H club has made me both outdoorsy and resourceful. I'm also mentally tough and a bit of a social butterfly. I love being challenged and can handle the pressure.
Why you think you will be the sole Survivor: People will underestimate me based on my looks, but I am tremendously competitive and driven. I'm feisty, brave and can manipulate people while remaining likeable."
